CitiTasker now supports bidding and instant hire — here's the difference
Platform A.
We've always supported open bidding. Now you can also go straight to a Tasker you trust with a direct instant hire booking. Here's when to use each one.
CitiTasker supports two ways to hire — and choosing the right one can save you time and money.
Bidding jobs
Best for: price-sensitive or complex jobs where you want to compare options.
When you post a BIDDING job, multiple taskers submit their price and availability. You can read their profiles, compare bids, ask questions in the job chat, and accept the one that fits best.
When to use bidding:
- You're not sure what a fair price is
- The job is large or multi-day
- You want to see multiple approaches before committing
Instant hire
Best for: when you already know who you want — or want CitiTasker to find the best match for you.
Instant hire sends a direct booking to a specific tasker (or to our top-ranked match in your area). The tasker can accept, decline, or counter-offer with a different price.
When to use instant hire:
- You've worked with someone before and trust them
- You need the job done urgently
- You'd rather skip comparing bids and just get it done
The key difference
| Bidding | Instant Hire | |
|---|---|---|
| How many taskers see it? | All matching taskers | One specific tasker |
| Time to first response | Minutes | Seconds to hours |
| Price | Competitive | Negotiated one-to-one |
| Best for | New jobs, big budgets | Trusted taskers, urgent needs |
Both job types are covered by CitiTasker's escrow payment system, so your money is protected either way.
